Meet the Artist

Born in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, into a family of many artists, Hannah expanded a natural talent for drawing into a distinctive style of painting in watercolor, focusing on the coastal Maine scenery when she and her husband settled there in 1972. After establishing a studio/gallery first in Waldoboro, later in Damariscotta, her award-winning paintings have been shown in many locations throughout New England. Many of her paintings are available as greeting cards and fine art prints.

For the past two summers, she has been the Guest Artist at the Pemaquid Gallery. Through the winter, an extensive collection of her New England work may be seen in the hall beside Salt Bay Framing Gallery and at the Calm Moments Day Spa, across from Hannaford Plaza, in Damariscotta.

Hannah paints the Everglades landscape during the winter months in Southeast Florida. In January 2005, she participated in the Annual Juried International Fine Art Show at the Marco Island Art League. During January 2006, she presented a solo show at the Everglades Museum Gallery in Everglades City, in celebration of the famous 1946 Marjorie Stoneman Douglas book, Everglades, River of Grass. In February, the show moved to The Ivey House, an historic inn in Everglades City, where it will remain for the year.

Hannah offers individual and group instruction. She has taught watercolor in Mexico to International Elderhostel students, and has conducted many Maine and Florida watercolor workshops. She is a member of the faculty of Round Top Center for the Arts, Damariscotta.
